Three kinds of requests
Insurance request
The patient names their plan. You reply with stock status and whether you can review that plan. No copay or coverage decision is expected.
General inquiry
The patient knows the medication but not every detail. Ask for the strength, form, and quantity before you answer about stock or price.
Requests never include a prescription. If a patient would rather stay with their current pharmacy, the request says so.

The patient sees which reply you chose and when. Nothing is shown as reserved, transferred, or ready unless you say so.
What to confirm
Before the patient acts
- Medication name, and whether an eligible generic is acceptable
- Strength, dosage form, and release type (for example, ER or XR)
- Quantity and days’ supply
- Valid prescription, or a transfer from the current pharmacy
- Final price, or whether you’ll run the patient’s plan
- Pickup time, or delivery if you offer it
A pharmacy remains responsible for deciding whether it can fill a valid prescription and for confirming stock, price, eligibility, and fulfillment. FreeMedFinder doesn’t make those decisions.
When you don’t have it
Check sourcing through InStockRx
InStockRx is a network where licensed pharmacies buy and sell in-date medication with each other. If a patient wants to stay with you, you can choose to check whether another pharmacy can supply it.
- Whether to source, and from whom, is your decision.
- Purchase details stay in your InStockRx account. The patient only sees that you’re checking.
- A listing doesn’t mean the medication is ready, that insurance will cover it, or that a purchase will go through.
